On the rank of the group of self-homotopy equivalences

In this talk, we first recall the classical results on the rank of E(X) 
by Arkowitz and Curjel for (co)H-spaces. Then we introduce an alternative 
condition under which the rank of E(X) is finite.  Secondly, we give a 
lower bound of the rank.
