Dispatching in IPP
Dispatching refers to detection of your system and selecting the IPP that corresponds to the hardware that you are using.
You need to remember that the IPP is optimized for several available platforms. The IPP software package actually contains several complete sets of functions, each optimized for specific hardware environment. Using the set of IPP functions corresponding to your system configuration ensures that you get the maximum application performance.
There are two basic ways to dispatch IPP to your machine so you can choose whether to link IPP dynamically or statically. There is also another linking option, that is "merged" linking, which can be described as "modified static" linking.
