Setting Properties for All Intel C++ Projects

This topic discusses how to set the following properties that apply to all Intel C++ projects:

  • which version of the Intel® C++ Compiler to use for all Intel C++ projects within Microsoft Visual Studio* .NET
  • whether or not to share VC++ project files

Select the version of the Intel C++ Compiler and the project system to use.

1.

Select Tool > Options.

2.

Select Intel(R) C++ > General (in the red frame).

3.

Select the version of the Intel C++ Compiler that you want to use (in the orange frame).

4.

Select whether or not to share Visual C++ project files (in the orange frame).

Selecting Yes leaves the Visual C++ project file untouched. When you open this project file (.vcproj) by double-clicking in Windows Explorer, Visual Studio uses the Visual C++ project system.

Select Yes when you are working on a team in which not everyone is using the Intel C++ Compiler or when you don’t want the Intel C++ project system to modify the .vcproj file.

Selecting No ensures that Visual Studio uses the Intel C++ project system whenever this project is opened.

Selecting No when you are working alone or on a team in which everyone is using the Intel C++ Compiler.
