Syllabus: The contents of the ``Custom Edition for Dalhousie University'' version of the textbook effectively define the course, although the Prelude and Chapter 4 should be regarded as review work or a reference, as necessary.
Evaluation: Grades will be based on marks between 0 and 100,
which will be computed as follows:
Test 1 (20%)
February 10, Wednesday, in class
Test 2 (30%) 
March 24, Wednesday, evening, 6:00--7:30 in Rowe 1028
Examination (50%)
3 hours, as announced later by the Registrar, in the interval [AL 13, AL24]
Notes:
1. Be sure to plan your term to include the dates and times of the tests and the examination. Conflicts with travel arrangements, jobs, et cetera cannot be accommodated. In particular:
Do not book airline tickets for the above-mentioned examination period until you know your examination schedule.
2. Calculators and other electronic devices are not allowed during the tests and the examination. In particular, telephones are not allowed.
3. Marks will be converted to letter grades as follows:

The Mathematics
Learning Centre (MLC):
The centre is located in Room 119 in the Chase Building. Help is available there from tutors and it also offers a wide variety of resource materials. It is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The MLC also operates from 7:00pm to 10:00pm, Monday through Thursday, from Room G40G in the Killam Learning Commons.
