Information About the Final Exam (April 20):

The exam will cover Chapters 7 and 10 of the text. The background material from earlier chapters that we did in the beginning of the semester will not appear as individual questions, but you will need to know the techniques (such as integration by parts) in order to answer the questions on the final exam. The precise sections of each chapter are listed below (in the "Course Calendar").

To prepare for the exam, you should do the practice problems corresponding to the sections on the test (see the course information sheet for the corresponding problems). These problems have solutions at the back of the book.

The exam is a closed book exam, and no notes of any kind are allowed. The use of calculators, cell phones, pagers or any text storage or communication device is not permitted. For your reference, here are the University regulations regarding cheating and other forms of academic fraud.

Extra Help:

You can use the following resources for extra help, especially to prepare for the test:

  • Office Hours: These are listed above.

  • Department of Mathematics Help Center: The help center is open every day during the finals. Go here for more information.

Solutions to Homework Problems: Homework 1(pdf), Homework 2(pdf), Homework 3(pdf), Homework 4(pdf).

    Solutions to Midterm: White(pdf), Yellow(pdf).

NEW! Sample final exam from last year (though this exam does not cover exactly the same topics, it is very good for practice!)
