Material covered and format of the test: The exam will cover everything done in class, except the review of vector geometry at the beginning of the course. The precise sections are sections 1.1 -- 1.5, 2.1 -- 2.3, 2.5, 2.8, 4.1 -- 4.6, 4.9, 5.1 and 5.2.

The test will consist of 10 multiple choice questions and 6 long-answer questions and will have a similar format as tests 1, 2 and 3. No partial marks will be given for the multiple choice questions. The total mark for the final exam will be 61 points, and one of the questions will be asking you to do a proof (one that we did in class) worth 4 bonus marks.

To prepare, you should do the practice problems corresponding to the sections on the test (see the course information sheet for the corresponding problems). These problems have solutions at the back of the book.

The exam is a closed book exam, and no notes of any kind are allowed. The use of calculators, cell phones, pagers or any text storage or communication device is not permitted. For your reference, here are the University regulations regarding cheating and other forms of academic fraud.

Make sure you read the guidelines of the Faculty of Science concerning final exams (item 4 does not apply!).
