Text: Schaum's Outline: Linear Algebra, by Seymour Lipschutz, Marc Lipson (3rd Edition).

Course Overview: We plan to cover roughly Chapters 4 to 7 and Chapter 9 of the text, and some applications.

Homework: Homework assignments are given every two weeks, and you have a week to complete them and hand them in in class. Late homework will not be accepted, and missed homework counts as zero. To cover emergencies and travel plans, the lowest homework grade will be dropped in the end.

Practice Problems: In addition to the homework which is collected, an extra set of problems called ``practice problems'' are assigned in class. The goal is that you become more familiar with the topic before you attempt the homework problems. Solutions to practice problems are not collected, but if there are questions and time allows, they can be discussed in class, and otherwise, you are encouraged to come to office hours.

Calculators: Calculators are not required for this course. You will not be allowed to use calculators during any of the exams.

Exams: There will be a midterm exam on Thursday October 21 during class time. It is your responsibility to check with the registrar's office for the final exam date and time.

Your Final Grade: There are three factors contributing to your final grade:

Final Exam: 55%
Midterm: 30%
Homework: 15%
