Speed up your mental arithmetic

The purpose of these "virtual flashcards" is to help you build up your speed at mental arithmetic so you don't have to turn to the calculator every time you need a little sum or product. I know it is a bit ironic to use a computer to eliminate the dependence on a calculator. Sometimes irony is neat.

Start with Addition - Level 1 - to get used to using the applet. Go for speed. The current record for a perfect 10 correct is 11 seconds on this first applet.

Please send me your comments or suggestions on these drill pages (kft@mathstat.dal.ca). You are welcome to create a link to this page for friends or students. I would like to be informed if you do. Thanks.
