Kokikai Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art in which, rather than trying to defeat an attacker's violence with greater violence, one harmonizes with an opponent's energy and leads him to defeat himself. More fundamentally, in Kokikai Aikido we practice to develop a relaxed, confident calmness and awareness which can be used in all parts of daily life. Practice is usually with empty hands; occasionally we may use wooden staff, sword, or knife.
