The third international conference on "Groups of Self-Homotopy Equivalences and Related Topics" will be held at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada, from Sunday, June 29 to Saturday, July 5, 2008. The first such meeting was held at the Centre de Recherches Mathematiques (CRM) in Montreal and the second at Palazzo Feltrinelli (University of Milan) in Gargnano sul Garda.
We have reserved individual rooms at one of the University dormitories. Room reservations can be made by: fax (902) 494-1219, e-mail: accommodations@dal.ca, phone: (902) 494-8840, toll free: 1-888-271-9222 or by using the Accommodation Reservation Request Form in the Summer Accomodations section of Dalhousie's web site www.dal.ca/confserv. When making a reservation, the participants should state that they are part of the conference "Groups of Self-Homotopy Equivalences and Related Topics"; a credit card (Visa, Master Card or American Express) is required to confirm the reservation.
The price for the room is CDN$ 247.89 /week, CDN$ 41.31/night (but there might be a small increase in 2008).
(These rates include linen, towels and membership privileges to Dalplex Athletic Facility.)
Breakfast can be obtained at one of the University cafeterias for CDN$ 6.00; we hope that it will be possible to arrange for luncheons at the University. The University is centrally located and there are plenty of restaurants and cafeterias in the area.
The conference is partly funded by a grant from the Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences (AARMS); we have decided to use our limited funds to pay travel grants of around CDN$ 500 to some of the participants who do not have other sources of travel funds; as the total number of grants is small, we ask only those without other sources to request them.
Here is a list of confirmed attendees. A preliminary list of talks is available.
Here is a schedule of talks for the conference. All talks will be in Chase 319.
