Steps to integrate WeBWork 2.14 with BrightSpace course

• Each homework set needs to be posted on BrightSpace for grade pass back to work.
• LTI will auto create WeBWork student accounts on first access from BrightSpace.
• Your BrightSpace account is an instructor account and initial WeBWork LTI access from BrightSpace will fail. Please manually add an account using the class list editor in WeBWork matching your Dalhousie netid.

How to add home work set URLs

• Course Admin → External Learning Tools → Manage Tool Links (Legacy)
• Under “Title”, fill in whatever text you would like the students to see for the link in Brightspace. This will also be the name of the grade item
• For URL, enter the URL to the homework set - https://webwork3.mathstat.dal.ca/webwork2/course-name/homeworkset-name
• Make sure to choose “Use tool provider security settings”
• Save and Close
• From Content → Existing Activities → External Learning Tools → Add the homework set created above
• Once added to the Content area, you can drop the menu beside the Title and choose “Edit Properties in Place” to add a description or add dates/restrictions to the link.
• For gateway quizes, the url differs slightly – https://webwork3.mathstat.dal.ca/webwork2/coursename/quiz_mode/homeworkset-name
• In webwork, choose the following for each posted homework set to assign the homework set to the current users - Hmwk Sets Editor → edit assigned users on a particular assignment - > assign to all current users. Please note that for the first set, you may have to do this a few times, because it may take a while for all students to get registered with WeBWork via BrightSpace and LTI.
