Course Content
Text: Modeling the Dynamics of Life, second Canadian edition , by
Adler and Lovric
In this course, we will cover all the standard topics in first
year calculus with an emphasis on applications to the life sciences.
A detailed list of topics can be found in the course outline.
The final grades will consist of quizzes, three homework assignments,
one mid-term test and the final exam. Quizzes will be given online in
the Webwork tab and will compose 15% of the final
grade. The lowest quiz grade will be discounted.
The assignment will require students to construct and analyze
a mathematical model and will count for 20% of the
final grade.
The mid-term tests will be held from 7pm-8:30pm on Monday October
24nd and count for 25%.
A single formula sheet (8 1/2 x 11) will be allowed for both the
final and the mid term. It may contain whatever information you wish on
both sides.
