Starting in September 2002 I have been involved in writing a column for the Mayhem section of Crux magazine which is published by the Canadian Mathematics Society. There are eight issues every year, roughly one each month while school is in session. The column focuses on aspects of mathematical problem solving and deals with a particular theme each month. The target audience is generally advanced high school students who are looking for ways to go beyond the standard curriculum. Below are two such articles which appeared in the April and May 2003 issues of Crux.
